Lowell State Primary September 3 2024 Unofficial Results (as provided by the Elections Office)

  • Rady Mom: 1013

  • Tara Hong: 1195

  • Andrew W. Kollar: 312

  • Write-Ins: 1

  • Times Blank Voted: 105

I'd like to thank Rady Mom State Representative for his years of service to our Community, and to congratulate Rep-Elect Tara Hong on his election.

While this was not the outcome we hoped for, I am proud of the Campaign we ran. There are serious challenges facing the residents and businesses of the 18th Middlesex District, most notably the high cost of living in the Commonwealth, and how we make housing both more affordable and more available.

My disappointment today is not with losing; that was always a possibility, but rather with the continuing trend of low Voter Turnout. This is a real problem, and Lowell can do better. As for me... back to Architecting!

Thank you to:

  • Rachel Kollar, Cecilia, and Sebastian for supporting me in this effort to serve our Community in a new capacity. It's been a long six (6) months of campaigning, and I recognize that often meant I had to go out canvassing the neighborhood, or to attend an event. I'm looking forward to spending more time as a family (and with a little less stress).

  • Geoffrey Feldman for being my right hand man since May. We ran this Campaign like an engineering project. Our decisions were calculated, and strategic. We managed our resources wisely. Nobody can deny our Voter Outreach efforts (over 8,000 Registered Voters contacted numerous times, each by various methods). It's a shame those didn't convert into Actual Voters yesterday. Methinks there needs to be a deeper, more probing analysis of the people in our District to better understand why they aren't voting.

  • My Family, Friends, and Neighbors who supported this Campaign. Whether you chipped in a few dollars, put up a yard sign on the lawn, or had encouraging words to offer, it was all appreciated.

  • Everyone in the Community who participated in yesterday's Primary...\

    • That's all the Mail-In Ballot Voters, the Early Voters, and the Day-of Voters. Alas, I wish there was more of you!

    • That's the poll workers going from 7am to 8pm, and everyone involved in the chain-of-custody getting those ballots back to the Elections Office.

    • That's Melanie Gilbert at The Sun News and Teddy S. Panos of Inside Lowell for providing media coverage of the day.

    • That's each campaign volunteer who held a sign outside of a polling location greeting / thanking voters for participating in our Democracy.

As this year's Campaign draws to a close, I'll leave you with this classic from Monty Python... https://youtu.be/SJUhlRoBL8M?si=njpYg0TdPqbCXg6f
