Stand with Andrew

For State Representative of the Middlesex 18th District

WHY I’M RUNNING

Practical Politics for a Sustainable Future

“As a Small Business Owner, an Architect, a Homeowner, and a Family Man, I run as a Democrat for State Representative of the 18th Middlesex District (Lowell’s Highlands and Acre Neighborhoods) to restore confidence in this office for those to whom Beacon Hill is not listening. The Blueprint for Lowell’s continued Growth and Prosperity requires Proven Leadership, Creative Thinking, Fiscal Responsibility, and Calculated Investment in both Physical and Human Infrastructure.”

Meet Andrew W.J. Kollar

Service to Community is a lifelong mission. This core belief has served Andrew well since he was a teenager helping his grandfather with matters of the North Bellmore Civic Association in suburban Long Island, NY over twenty years ago. A Lowellian by choice, Andrew moved to the Highlands neighborhood in 2015, purchased a home here in 2017, and served on the City’s Sustainability Council.

As a Professional, Andrew continues this tradition through service on appointed committees at the Federal, State, and Local levels with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the MA Board of Building Regulations & Standards (BBRS), the International Code Council (ICC), and the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Andrew is certified as an MA Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program Provider, a PHIUS Passive House Consultant (CPHC), and with the CA Office of Emergency Services Safety Assessment Program to provide second-responder services for designated emergency events.

As a Business Owner, Andrew is proud to support the work of local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell, and the South Middlesex Opportunity Council who operate the Lowell Transitional Living Center.
